410S stainless steel is a martensitic stainless steel sheet
Chemical composition:
Carbon (C) content ≤ 0.08%, which helps to improve the hardness and strength of steel, but too high carbon content may reduce the toughness and corrosion resistance of steel.
Manganese (Mn) content ≤ 1.00%, which can improve the strength and hardenability of steel.
Silicon (Si) content ≤ 1.00%, which can enhance the oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of steel.
Chromium (Cr) content is 11.5 - 13.5%, which is the main element of stainless steel with corrosion resistance. The higher the chromium content, the better the corrosion resistance.
Nickel (Ni) content ≤ 0.60%, nickel can improve the toughness and corrosion resistance of steel, but the content is low in 410S.
Phosphorus (P) content ≤ 0.04%, sulfur (S) content ≤ 0.03%, phosphorus and sulfur are impurity elements in steel, the lower the content, the better the quality of steel.
Features:
Good corrosion resistance:
In general environments, such as air, water and some mildly corrosive media, it has good corrosion resistance. However, in highly corrosive environments, its corrosion resistance may not be as good as some high-alloy stainless steels.
Good machining performance:
It is easy to perform machining operations such as cutting, stamping, bending, etc., and can meet the processing requirements of various complex shapes.
High hardness:
After proper heat treatment, the hardness is high, up to about HRC 40-50, which makes it have good wear resistance and deformation resistance.
